Re: Quick Announcement and a Favor
Dear Future SE/PE,
Thank you for being here 🙂
Like I mentioned in the email, I am going to tell you a little bit about the “SE Study Planner”.
In a nutshell, it's a spreadsheet that I originally created to help myself make the best use of my time for studying the SE exam. And the reason I created it was because I only had around 65 days to study.
That is, I only had between August 21 and October 25 to study for the 2013 SE Exam… (I'll tell you more about that next week).
Not only that, I had prior commitments to attend 2 weddings plus 1 out-of-town birthday party during this period.
In other words, 3 out of the 9 weekends that I had available for studying were pretty much…gone.
It was extremely stressful to be honest…but I pulled through and passed the exam!
Now, I have to attribute a major part of my success to this spreadsheet that I had created.
It helped me figure out:
- How much “actual” time I had available
- How much time was needed, and
- Whether I was on track to finish my studies
By knowing all of these info, I was able to adjust my study plan on the fly as I go. More importantly,
I Was Able To Relax, Feel Guilt-Free, and Enjoy My Time
When I Was Not Studying
And I know the Planner could help you do the same. Well, as a matter of fact, it had helped a number of others already!
Now, the original spreadsheet had already been polished up; it is now much more usable and user-friendly. I've also added a few additional functions based on the feedback that I got from other test-takers.
As of today, the Planner itself is pretty much done. I am now working on updating the instruction manuals so that when you do get your hands on the SE Study Planner, you will be able to use it right away and will be able to come up with a plausible study schedule very quickly.
HOWEVER, I need your help.
Before finalizing the whole thing, I want to make sure that I have covered everything.
That’s where you come in.
Please take a few minutes to answer this super-duper-short survey – there is really only one thing that I want to ask you:
